Common questions

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to build a deck?

Typical timelines range from 5-12 weeks depending on complexity. A standard flat-grade deck takes 5-6 weeks. Steel-frame hillside builds take 8-12 weeks including engineering and permits.

Do you handle permits and engineering?

Yes - we coordinate all permits, structural engineering, and city approvals as part of every project. You don't need to manage any of it.

What areas do you serve?

We're based in the South Bay (San Jose/Santa Clara) and serve the greater Bay Area including Portola Valley, Los Altos, Woodside, Saratoga, Los Gatos, Fremont, Milpitas, and Santa Cruz.

What's the difference between a standard deck and a steel-frame hillside deck?

Standard decks sit on flat or low-slope ground with wood framing. Hillside decks require engineered steel columns and beams to safely cantilever over steep terrain - they're more complex but unlock views and usable space on challenging lots.

Do you offer financing?

We don't offer direct financing, but we can recommend lending partners who specialize in home improvement loans. Most clients use home equity lines or construction loans.
